:: SANSKAR ::
‘Sanskar’ was one of our foremost programmes to impart civic, environment, health and social values to school children at an impressionable age.
Conducted through the academic year, ‘Sankar’ was formulated after intensive year-long research, and incorporates inputs and recommendations from experts in the relevant fields. The core curriculum focusses on civic responsibilities, environmental awareness and, health and social duties. The programme aims to strengthen the environmental and social roots of children in a way that they grow up to be sensitive and responsible citizens of society.
The programme runs parallel to various campaigns and workshops aligned with our objectives. Following are the four core components of these initiatives:
Civic awareness: The idea is to instill a sense of civic responsibility by appreciating one’s important role as an individual in the societal web and how each one of us can make a difference by being sensitive to our surroundings.
Environment protection and preservation: Safeguarding the source of our existence -Nature can only be sustained if one respects and values what we have. This component educates children about environment sustainability and alerts them about the dangers of pollution and environmental degradation.
Health and Exercise: Children develop lifestyle habits depending on their family outlook and socio-economic status. However, it is important for each to adopt a healthy lifestyle regardless of her family background. Education being the only thing common to children across all strata of society, it is imperative to devise a syllabus which incorporates a holistic understanding of health. This module aims to impart this understanding of healthy living while, at the same time, ensuring avoidance of influences hazardous to health.
Moral and Social Education: This module aspires to develop character, resilience compassion and a sense of social responsibility.
Instead of boring lessons, the programme drives the point home through absorbing games, riddles, campaigns, workshops and interactive sessions. The child-friendly methodology stimulates conscious thinking and interest in children.
